We recommend choosing medium weight (Braeriach) or heavyweight (Strome) tartan fabric to produce an 8 yard, traditional, hand-sewn, made-to-measure kilt. Please allow up to 6 weeks for delivery.

YOUR WAIST MEASUREMENT
Measure your natural waist (usually level with the naval). Take a firm measurement so your kilt will fit naturally without falling down. Stand straight and relaxed and do not hold your breath.
Please make sure someone is able to assist with the measurements as you need to stand straight, feet together and head up.
Please measure in inches.
YOUR SEAT MEASUREMENT
The seat measurement is a loose measurement over trousers at the widest part of your bottom/hips. Take the measurement with two fingers inside the tape so the measurement is not too tight.
Ensure that your pockets are empty and stand with feet together.

KILTS
KILT LENGTH MEASUREMENT
The length measurement should be taken from the top of the hip bone (usually level with the naval) to the middle of the kneecap. Stand with your feet comfortably apart. The length of the kilt is commonly worn to the middle of the knee cap.

MEASURING YOUR HEIGHT
Remove your shoes and stand straight against a wall while on a hard surface (not a carpet). Measure from your heel to the top of your head.
Height measurment is needed to make sure the kilt lenght measurement is correct.
